Turner & Son Homes has been building custom houses on Oklahoma land since 1964, when Ben Turner set out to deliver what families actually wanted at a price they could afford. His son Tim, a former U.S. Marine, later joined him and helped shape the Oklahoma City firm’s “anti-builder” stance: fixed-price contracts with no escalation clauses, in-house warranty work, and plans written so a homeowner can read them. The company does not develop its own neighborhoods; it designs and builds on the client’s lot—whether five acres outside Edmond or a inherited parcel in Norman—and aims for about 38 weeks from slab to move-in. Families across the Oklahoma City metro and surrounding counties work through a four-step process of budget, land, design, and construction, with regular updates instead of radio silence. The Memorial Road shop also offers guidance on construction loans and a free class on building on your own land, treating the custom home as a family project rather than a spec product.
